Step 2: Create your nomination proposal

Create a snapshot proposal in the RareDAO Council Nominations space here. In order to create a proposal, you will need to be connected with a wallet that contains at least 1 $RARE. This is required by Snapshot to prevent spam proposals. If you do not already own $RARE, you can get some on major centralized exchanges or on Uniswap.

For the title of your proposal, please use the following template: [2025 Council Nomination] Your Preferred Name

For the description of your proposal, please copy paste your nomination profile from Step 1 - excluding the ā€œLink to snapshotā€ field. In order to ensure the best formatting, click the pencil icon beneath your forum response to open edit mode and copy the unformatted markdown text displayed on the left.

For the ā€œVoting Periodā€ settings, please leave the start time set to ā€œnowā€, and set the end time to your local timezone’s equivalent of May 7th at 9am Eastern Time. For help converting your local timezone to Eastern Standard Time (EST), I recommend this tool.

Once all of the above has been completed, please double check that everything has been entered correctly and then click ā€œPublishā€.

Step 3: Add snapshot proposal to your nomination profile

Once your snapshot proposal has been created, please copy the proposal’s URL and then paste it into the ā€œLink to snapshotā€ field of your nomination profile. In order to edit your forum response, you will need to click the pencil icon displayed underneath it and to the right.

What happens next?

Once you’ve successfully followed the steps to self-nominate, you should use your connections within the community to campaign for 1.5 million votes on your snapshot proposal. When nomination voting ends on May 7th at 9am EST, all candidates with over 1.5 million votes on their proposal will be included in a final election proposal in the DAO’s primary snapshot space, using the approval voting strategy. The election vote will begin at 4pm EST on May 7th and end at 4pm EST on May 14th, more information about the election vote and transfer of power can be found here.

Select: Collector, Builder

Provide more details:

I’ve spent the past few years working on projects that push toward a more equitable future for creators. I previously led marketing at SuperRare, and have been on the SuperRare DAO Governance Council for the past year, helping shape strategy and ecosystem growth.

Currently at Story, I lead ecosystem and creator marketing for the Layer-1 focused on unlocking programmable IP to ensure creators are credited and compensated as their work flows across the internet and AI tools.

As a creative and long-time art enjoyer, there is no doubt in my mind that digital art is pushing forward the next great movement in art history. I’m deeply invested, both personally and professionally, in the space and believe strongly in SuperRare’s role in bringing it to life.

Please share any relevant experience that would support your work on the Council.

SuperRare is an ecosystem I know deeply, both operationally and culturally. I’m an active collector, believe strongly in SuperRare’s role in advancing digital art as the next great art movement, and am committed to helping bring that vision to life.

Experience:

  • 1+ year on the SuperRare DAO Governance Council, contributing to treasury decisions, protocol upgrades, and multi-sig duties.

  • Former Marketing Director at SuperRare, leading product launches, partnerships, socials, and comms.

  • Currently leading ecosystem and creator marketing at Story, the Layer-1 for IP in the age of AI.

  • Previously a consultant at Wachsman, advising 10+ crypto projects across art, AI, DeFi, infra, and consumer tech.

  • 5 years in crypto across governance, ecosystem growth, and strategic comms, with a focus on digital art and the creator economy.

  • On the Board of Directors of a grassroots nonprofit in Liberia, adding a different, grounded perspective to community and governance.

What commitments can you make regarding availability and reliability for transaction signing, async communication, and participation in meetings?

  • Fully committed to async comms, meetings, and showing up in the forum and other public spaces.
  • I’ve been signing on the council for the past year and am often involved in setting up transactions due to being readily accessible. Can guarantee continued reliable and fast response times.
  • My hardware wallet and phone come with me everywhere. Some call me, ā€œchronically onchainā€. Ready to sign anytime any place.
  • Beyond admin duties, I’ll continue to be a strong advocate for SuperRare and the broader digital art movement. I care deeply about how this ecosystem grows and evolves.

Role in the Crypto Art Ecosystem

  • Selected role: Builder
  • More details:
I’m the CTO and lead protocol engineer at SuperRare Labs. Over the years, I’ve helped architect and implement much of the core smart contracts for SuperRare and the Rare Protocol. That includes our NFT minting systems, the original marketplace, Rarity Pool Staking, and the evolving suite of tools within the protocol. My focus has been on designing resilient, upgradeable, and transparent systems that empower artists, collectors, and curators.

Relevant Experience

My work has spanned protocol development, on-chain governance architecture, and secure contract upgrade systems. I’ve also been closely involved in broader ecosystem integrations and on-chain coordination around auctions, royalties, and creator tooling. I bring a protocol-level perspective to decision-making, grounded in both technical knowledge and the lived realities of operating a large-scale NFT platform.

Availability & Commitments

I’m comfortable working async and regularly involved in protocol discussions. I use a hardware wallet for all signing and travel with it when needed. I’m happy to commit to timely participation in Council activities, including signing transactions, showing up for calls, and generally staying present and responsive.

Digital Art Advisor

More details: Through my firm, LAL Art Advisory, I work closely with artists, collectors, and institutions navigating Web3. I manage the studio of Operator (Ania Catherine and Dejha Ti), co-founded the 100collectors club, and lead educational initiatives for museums via WAC Lab.

Please share any relevant experience that would support your work on the Council:
I bring 15 years of experience in traditional art and tech, including positions at Artnet, Christie’s, and Sotheby’s Institute, before diving into crypto art in 2018. Since then, I’ve been an active digital art advisor and a vocal advocate for decentralized innovation in the art world. My work with RadicalxChange has also given me hands-on experience with DAOs and new ownership models to reshape the art market. We don’t want to just replicate old existing art market models in Web3, let’s innovate with the technology we all love.

What commitments can you make regarding availability and reliability for transaction signing, async communication, and participation in meetings?
It’s been an honor to serve on the Council over the past year. I’ve remained consistently available for transaction signing, asynchronous communication (especially with Brennan), and meetings across time zones. I’m deeply committed to the mission of the DAO, something I’ve believed in since the early Pixura days, even before SuperRare was called SuperRare.

Of course, I understand if the DAO members vote for new voices. But I would truly appreciate the chance to continue for another year. With all the recent changes to the DAO structure, I believe my experience and institutional memory are more valuable than ever in helping move things forward.

Hello all,

Due to a technical issue on snapshot’s end, new proposals currently cannot created in the Council Nominations space. Charles was the last candidate to be able to submit their nomination proposal (thank you to @flakoubay for reporting the issue!) I have escalated this with their leadership team and hope for a resolution in the morning. In the meantime, please continue to create your nomination profiles here, and I will provide an update as soon as new proposals are able to be created in snapshot once again.

My apologies for any inconvenience!

Which best describes your role in the crypto art ecosystem?

  • Select: Builder
  • Provide more details: Co-founder & CEO of Transient Labs

Please share any relevant experience that would support your work on the Council.
By trade, I am an engineer specializing in protocol development, particularly focused on NFTs. I also have a strong background in full-stack web development. In my role leading operations at Transient Labs, I have gained significant experience with on-chain funds management and ensuring operational efficiency. I’ve been deeply involved in the cryptoart space since 2021, dedicating over four years to working directly with key stakeholders including SuperRare, artists, collectors, and various businesses. This combined experience provides a solid foundation in technical expertise, operational excellence, and a nuanced understanding of the ecosystem’s dynamics, all of which are crucial for effective Council work.

What commitments can you make regarding availability and reliability for transaction
signing, async communication, and participation in meetings?

I understand the importance of consistent availability for Council duties, including transaction signing, asynchronous communication, and meeting participation. My current professional routine, which includes managing operations for Transient Labs and leading a fully remote team over the past four years, ensures I am highly available and reliable in these areas. I am accustomed to promptly signing transactions as needed and actively engaging in async discussions and virtual meetings as part of my daily work. I am confident my established habits and experience align well with the availability required for this role.

    • Select: Artist Builder
    • Provide more details: I am co-lead of the Botto project
  • Please share any relevant experience that would support your work on the Council.

    • I served on the council during the latest 2024 term.
    • Working on Botto has me developing and thinking about decentralized governance in the context of art every day. Botto’s own set up of having a DAO vote on and guide the direction of an autonomous artist’s development has many parallels with the Rare protocol. We deal with the challenges of balancing plutocratic conviction with long-tail democratic consensus as it applies to finding culturally-impactful works.
    • We are in a long-term process of progressive decentralization, where some parts of the BottoDAO that governs Botto is fully decentralized while many other parts are still heavily centralized. Aside from Botto I have over 17 years of experience in community-governed organizations, and I have become very comfortable with the idea that full decentralization of social and cultural organizations takes a long time. However, it starts by having the initial (centralized) leadership leading by example and consensus to discover and lay the foundation of the guiding principles for the organization. Much of my work is developing and writing proposals in conjunction with the community and ensuring what we put forward has strong popular consensus.
    • My professional background prior to Botto is in science/tech communications and branding, helping organizations to refine and communicate their core purpose in a simple way. My goal on the council would be to help navigate that discovery of the core purpose and values of the protocol through supporting key projects that manifest and test those ideas.
    • Conflicts: I want to also state that I retain my core responsibility to the Botto project and BottoDAO, so I will be proactive in pointing out anywhere that may be a conflict for my role on the council and abstain on relevant issues.
  • What commitments can you make regarding availability and reliability for transaction signing, async communication, and participation in meetings?
I can continue to be available to participate in the regular meetings and sign as needed.

Note I had to upload this from my old SR affiliated forum account cause my new account got temporarily blocked - for complete clarity I am not a member of the SuperRare team

Crypto-Art Collector since 2019, World’s first CryptoArt Reseller (2020-2023).

Please share any relevant experience that would support your work on the Council.

Became the World #1 Crypto-Art reseller from 2020 until 2023 of unique 1/1 artworks (246 unique artworks resold on SuperRare alone). Collected more than 1850 artworks from more than 350 different unique artists across the globe (see New York Times article and other sources attached).

Since the start Druid has been pushing for art accessibility, going against an art market that always tends to be very elitist.

I’ve been known for pushing boundaries. Forced SR to implement a minimum bid system because of TheDruid bids.

The main idea behind the first Druid bids was that most of the artists on the platform were not making any sales. Those were hidden by few successful artists taking all the light. I realized that those artists don’t make sales not because their work is bad but because there is just no collector with the specific taste of the artist’s work. Which doesn’t mean that the art is bad but that it hasn’t found, yet, a collector to whom the art talks to.

I decided to bid on all artists that haven’t made any sale. It was a way to tell them ā€œSomeone see youā€, ā€œkeep goingā€, it was a way to say don’t give up.

TheDruid is not only a collector, he’s a collector who always fighted for artists visibility and who always tried to give a voice and some light to those who have none. More than that I’ve been active and pushing ideas for the $RARE token in the forum. Sometimes asking the difficult questions some don’t dare to ask.

What commitments can you make regarding availability and reliability for transaction signing, async communication, and participation in meetings?

I’m very familiar with hardware wallets and own a lot of different(Trezor/ledgers). Been in Crypto since 2017. I’m present and responsive when there is a need to and happy to make time for it.

Mine is 1 day shorter to vote.

Heya, thanks for noting this. Since most of our voters are in North America, I don’t expect this to have too big of an impact for you, but if you’d like you can archive your current proposal and recreate a new one with the correct end date/time. -Which best describes your role in the crypto art ecosystem?
Select: Artist, Builder

-Provide more details:

Been living a double life… on one hand, as a traditionally trained artist; on the other, deeply involved in the crypto ecosystem since late 2011, where I ran a mining operation.

In 2012, Namecoin sparked a realization for me, that unique text could be encapsulated on the blockchain and I knew it was only a matter of time before other forms of digital media would find their place onchain. This insight launched a decade-long exploration of how art and blockchain could merge, leading to my early contributions to the development of the NFT movement.

In 2018, I began tokenizing my work on SuperRare as one of the platform’s earliest artists. Being present and engaged through SuperRare’s evolution has given me a unique perspective on the diverse challenges and needs of creators, collectors, and builders within the ecosystem.

That same year, I had the honor of delivering one of the first-ever TEDx talks on CryptoArt and NFTs at the Museum of London.

In 2019, had a NFT solo-exhibition in New York showcasing the first NFTs to be materialized from digital into physical form. (Solidity & Materiality) This work represented one of the earliest explorations of smart contract–enabled generative art projects, pre-dating even Autoglyphs.

Since then, I have been actively onboarding new participants into the ecosystem by speaking and exhibiting internationally and leading the Christie’s London EDU course on: NFTs, Blockchain, & The Metaverse. with over 100 participants.

Most recently, I’ve been involved in developing the Bitcoin Fine Art ecosystem, pioneering a new format for tokenization of digital assets on Bitcoin by merging Ordinals and Runes (Rune Art).

As a graduate of Central Saint Martins and The School of Design, I have dedicated my career to documenting the evolution of art merging with algorithms, novel distribution channels and networks - while continuing to actively contribute to the building of a new digital art ecosystem.

-Please share any relevant experience that would support your work on the Council:

• Started tokenizing on SuperRare in 2018 as one of the earliest artists on the platform. Therefore, being present and supporting the evolution of SuperRare through the years provided me with a unique perspective and understanding of diverse challenges and needs of creators, collectors, and builders in the ecosystem.

• Active service on the SuperRare DAO Governance Council for the past year, helping guide treasury management, support protocol improvements, and handle multi-sig responsibilities.

• Contributed to the earliest Generative Art Platform on the blockchain with an ongoing commitment to growing the digital fine art ecosystem.

• Working with multiple organizations, pop-up cities and DAOs as a strategic consultant and Web3 advisor.

• Selected by Christie’s London EDU, to be the sole leader of Christie’s course on: NFTs, Blockchain, & The Metaverse. (with over 100 participants)

• Experience in mechanism design for complex decentralized reputation and curation systems

• Contributed to the development of the Rare Protocol as the Executive Strategic Advisor

• Initiated a new format for tokenization of digital assets on Bitcoin (merging Ordinals and Runes)

• Created Rune Art and lead the creation of the ā€˜Timestamps’ collaborative art collection exploring in depth the novel capabilities of using Bitcoin as a medium for digital art

-What commitments can you make regarding availability and reliability for transaction signing, async communication, and participation in meetings?

Over the past year, I’ve demonstrated a strong commitment to the Council’s work by showing up consistently for async discussions, transaction signing, and calls across time zones. I carry my hardware wallet and remain accessible to ensure fast, secure participation whenever needed. I’m proud to maintain 100% uptime, and I’m ready to continue contributing with the same reliability.

Beyond the operational side, I’m deeply passionate about SuperRare’s mission and the broader digital art ecosystem. As the DAO enters a new phase, I believe my experience and steady presence can help provide continuity, advocacy, and thoughtful support for the community’s growth. I’d be honored to continue serving for another term.
